Structural Repairs
Reconstruction of stone pinnacles and fabric repairs. Client: Cheshire County Council

This contract was supervised by the Engineering Department of Cheshire County Council and involved extensive stone repairs and new pinnacles to a 100ft high tower in a city centre environment.

The site is adjacent to the Law Courts and work required careful planning and liaison with the Police Authority to avoid disruption of high profile court cases.

The building continued to be used as an international conference centre during the progress of the works.

The existing pinnacles required stablising and strengthening with the insertion of stainless steel dowels which were subsequently grouted. This work, which was carried out at high level, was to a very strict tolerance to avoid damage to the remaining structure.
